3rd edition of Cisco Expo in Beirut: an array of state-of-the art solutions in IT
Cisco Systems unveils new strategies in e-business to Lebanese business leaders
Beirut, June 13, 2002: for the 3rd year in a row Cisco Systems, the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet, hosted “Cisco Expo” in Biel Congress Center. The exhibition highlighted business solutions and technology workshops addressing senior business leaders, industry key players and Cisco partners in Lebanon and the region.
Mohammad Abdul Malak, Cisco Country Manager Levant, declared: “We cooperate closely with the Lebanese Ministry of Telecommunications which will yield in installing a modern telecommunication infrastructure, where both parties are aware of the existent opportunities that will bridge the gap and serve to achieve a bigger progress in this field”. He added: “Beirut has always been the first city in the Middle East to set new trends and it was a normal choice for Cisco Systems to headquarter Levant office in Beirut. Moreover, Cisco Systems selects Beirut as the annual platform to host a specialized exhibition aiming at showcasing the latest innovations in IT and the state-of-the-art technologies in e-business”.
The event held with the sponsorship of Cisco partner in Lebanon, Fiberlink Networks explained how advanced functionalities and convergence can increase performance in the business environment. It also tackled the IP Telephony and Wireless LAN know to be the most significant business enhancing
technologies of the moment as well as outlined Cisco AVVID technology, the architecture of the future. The workshop unveiled the many advanced business solutions aimed at increasing companies’ productivity and reducing costs.
The event included a presentation of Cisco Networking Academic Program, CNAP, launched in Lebanon with the cooperation of many universities and academic institutions.
Mr. Mike Mansour, assistant general manager at FiberLink Networks, the only ISP CPN (Cisco Powered Network) in the Middle East, declared: “Our company believes in Cisco Systems products and techniques and our partnership yielded significant results which reflected positively on the development of IT in Lebanon. We are sure that the organization and the sponsorship of an event of this magnitude will help in the enhancement of IT economy in the region”.
